Subject: Setting Boundaries: Protecting Your Peace and Purpose

Church Family,

We pray this message finds you well and that your heart is still stirring from Sunday's powerful worship and word. What a beautiful reminder that "because He lives, I can face tomorrow" – and that truth should anchor us as we navigate the week ahead.

Summary: This week, we concluded our four-week series on becoming emotionally healthy by addressing a critical question: How do we protect who we are once we've done the healing work? The sermon explored the biblical necessity of creating healthy boundaries in our lives – not walls that keep everyone out, but gates that give intentional access to those who have proven trustworthy. We learned that boundaries aren't selfish; they're essential stewardship of what God has given us. Just as Jesus modeled different levels of access (John, the three, the twelve, the seventy, and the crowds), we too must discern who sits at our table. Without boundaries, we risk becoming prisoners to everyone else's demands, opinions, and emergencies, ultimately losing sight of our God-given purpose and identity.

Takeaways:

Boundaries protect what matters most: Your peace, your purpose, your relationships, your marriage, and your identity all flow from the condition of your heart (Proverbs 4:23). Creating boundaries isn't about being unkind; it's about being a good steward of the life God has entrusted to you.
Every "yes" is a "no" to something else: Before automatically saying yes to every request or demand, pause and consider what you'll have to say no to as a result. Often, we unknowingly say no to our families, our calling, or our own well-being because we haven't learned to evaluate the cost of our commitments.
Not everyone gets equal access: Jesus loved everyone, but He didn't give everyone the same level of access to His life. You can love people without allowing them into your inner circle. Trustworthiness and proven character determine who moves from one boundary to the next – and that's healthy, not harsh.
As we move forward this week, I encourage you to prayerfully examine your life. Where have you allowed chaos because you haven't created boundaries? Who have you said yes to at the expense of what God is calling you to? Remember, if you're still breathing, there's still room to grow – regardless of your age.

May the Lord give you wisdom and courage to implement healthy boundaries that honor Him, protect your calling, and enable you to be fully present for what truly matters.

P.S. Continue to lift up Leon and Barbara in prayer as they trust God for supernatural healing. And remember – your life isn't about you; it's about what God needs you to do for the person next to you who doesn't yet know that He lives.
