Derrick Watley was appointed to serve as Mighty Wind Worship Center's Senior Pastor on November 1, 2018. Prior to that, he spent the last fifteen years serving in multiple leadership roles for organizations such as AT&T, State Farm, and Aramark.

The attributes that best describe Derrick as a pastor are strong preaching, leadership development, and engaging people. He has expressed a burning desire to lead a church like Mighty Wind Worship Center where biblical views are embraced and encouraged, with members who care about the needs of those around them and who want to connect others to the body of Christ. Derrick takes building community very seriously and works diligently at connecting together with others in covenant relationships. He understands that God never created us to be independent, God created us to be interdependent. 

Derrick is a native of Waco, Tx, and graduated from Ashford University in 2017 with a degree in Business Management.

Derrick has been happily married for 16 years to his beautiful wife, Christy. They have 3 children: Miquel (25), Isaiah (19), and Mireya (10).

Marian Smith became a member of Mighty Wind Worship Center over 28 years ago. Marian most definitely has a servant's heart and is willing to do whatever is necessary to see growth and development in God's people. Marian has spent the last 27 years serving in lay leadership roles within our ministry, and at the end of 2019 accepted the position of Pastor of Programming.

Prior to this, she spent the last 10 years serving as the Regional Director of V.O.I.C.E. This organization specializes in substance abuse prevention for youth and families in our county. Marian led a group of individuals that included staff members, volunteers, and community activists working together to accomplish a common goal.  Marian brings the expertise of not only developing programs but developing leaders as well, and she is the right person to help create efficiencies that will improve our programming, therefore allowing us to have a greater impact on the lives of those seeking a closer relationship with Jesus Christ. 

Marian is a native of Bruceville-Eddy, Tx, and earned her Bachelor's Degree at Tarleton State University in Sociology. 

Marian has been happily married for 10 years to her husband, Bo. They have 7 children and 4 grandchildren: Andrew, Carla, Jordan, Johnathan, Bridget, Gabrielle, and Joseph. Grandchildren: Jakob, Jayce, Hadriel, and Alice. 

Paula became involved with Mighty Wind Worship Center as a volunteer in 2014. After a few months of volunteering, it was recognized that she brought a wealth of knowledge and expertise that would help our daily operations become more efficient and effective.

Paula had a very successful career in the telecommunications industry. Paula had 25 years of experience in leading and managing people within an office setting. Paula is a seasoned manager with a specific skill set that brought a positive change to the daily operations of our office. Paula is an active, outgoing presence with a great sense of humor and the perfect person to initiate and complete a project. Her humble nature and openness to feedback mean she's always learning and growing, an impressive strength that will continue to serve her well.

Paula has been happily married for 27 years to her husband, Donnie. They have 2 children: Amanda and Otis.
